EMMA J. JONES

Emma Jane Jones, 76, of the 1400 block of Hamilton Ave., died Sept. 11, 1997,in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.

Born in Portsmouth, she was the widow of John Jones and a former member of Fourth Baptist Church, Portsmouth.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley A. Newton of Chesapeake, Joyce Hebbert of Central Islip, N.Y., Jane Faison of Portsmouth; a son, Joseph Saunders of Chesapeake; a sister, Virginia Price of Portsmouth; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, by Dr. C.V. Russell Sr. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk.
