BESSIE L. LINDSAY

Bessie Lucille Lindsay, of the 2200 block of Dunbarton Road, died Sept. 12, 1997, after a long illness, in Chesapeake Health Care Center.

Born in Beaufort, N.C., she was a retired special education teacher for the Neptune New Jersey school system. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Norfolk, and a member of the Saint Cecilia Guild.

Survivors include her husband, Andrew Lindsay Sr.; three sons, Gregory, Bernard, and Andrew Jr.; sisters, Josephine Webster, Gladys Hill, Julia Orilla, Shirley Gaines, Ethel Phillips; brothers, David Pearsall, Fred Pearsall; and grandchildren, Gregory Jr. and Caleb. She was predeceased by her parents, Ethel and David Pearsall, and a daughter, Anna Marie.

A funeral will be at noon Friday in Grace Episcopal Church by the Rev. Father Harold J. Cobb, Rector. Burial will be in Roosevelt Cemetery. Hale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
