Mills Thomas Tomlin Sr., 72, of the 2100 block of Pitchkettle Road died Sept. 17, 1997, in his home.
A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a son of the late Charles Edward and Emma Barrett Tomlin. Mr. Tomlin served in World War II as a staff sergeant and paratrooper with Company I 187th Glider Infantry. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
Survivors include his wife, Paige Parker Tomlin; his daughters, Pamela T. Burke, Sheila Tomlin, both of Windsor; his sons, Mills T. Tomlin Jr. of Chesapeake, Harvey N. Tomlin of Windsor, Merrell M. Tomlin of Cross Plains, Wis., Kenneth D. Tomlin of Middletown, Del.; a sister, Margaret T. Felts of Ivor; and 11 grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Holly Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. The family will receive friends in R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
