EMMA B. WHITE

Emma Boothe White, 98, of the 900 block of Enterprise Way died Sept. 16, 1997.

A native of Surry County, she was a retired school teacher at Woodrow Wilson High School and a member of the West End United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Robert H. White.

Survivors include her daughter, Anna L. Jones, and husband, Hugh O. Jones Jr., of Roanoke; a son, Robert B. White, and wife, Ruth R. White, of Greensboro, N.C.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Scott Rimer. Burial will be in Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Va., at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
