Elsie Christine McClelland, 59, died Sept. 16, 1997, in her home.

Born in Pender County, N.C., she was a catering supervisor with Pollards Catering for 19 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Gail Crayne of Chesapeake, Linda Avery of San Diego, Calif.; a son, Richard Rogers of Virginia Beach; parents, Linney Rebecca Wheeler Johnson and Robert Graham Johnson, both of Willard, N.C.; two sisters, Jean Strickland of Seaford, Va., Betty Rivenbark of Wallace, N.C.; a brother, Graham Johnson of Willard; and a granddaughter, Jacqueline Borte of San Diego.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Princess Anne Memorial Park by Chaplain J.C. Jones. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
