DOROTHY W. POWERS

Dorothy Weller Powers, 78, passed away on Sept. 17, 1997, in her home with her family present.

A native of Norfolk, Mrs. Powers was the daughter of the late Adeline McGrath Weller and Joseph Weller. She was a retired office manager for Scott Rug Cleaners. Mrs. Powers was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church, where she was a past president of the W.O.C. and an inactive deacon and elder or the church.

Survivors include her husband, Albert Earl Powers Sr.; four daughters, Catherine Powers-Valle of Los Angeles, Calif., Margaret P. Bryant of Virginia Beach, Evelyn M. Powers of Greenville, N.C., Alice J. Powers of Chesapeake; two sons, Albert E. Powers Jr. of Orlando, Fla., David W. Powers of Norfolk; her brother, Walter T. Weller of Virginia Beach; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two nieces.

A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Robert E. DeWitt at 2 p.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
