John C. Wilson, 77, of the 300 block of Taft Drive, died Sept. 14, 1997, in his home.
Born in Liberty, N.C., he retired after 35 years from Louis Legum as a warehouseman. He was a member of Jupiter Lodge No. 5725, G.U.O. of O.F.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel F. Wilson; three daughters, Mary Alice Grimes and Bernice Harris, both of Washington, D.C., and Shirley Newkirk of Greensboro, N.C.; a son, Clinton L. Wilson of Portsmouth; a brother, Louis Wilson of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be at noon Saturday in New Bethel Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by Bishop J.M. Whitaker. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
