Myra Hundley Hurston, 48, of the 1800 block of Piankatank Lane, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 19, 1997, departing from her residence.
Born in Ashland, Ky., she was a 1971 graduate of Old Dominion University and a member of Virginia Beach Community Chapel.
The beloved wife of James E. Hurston, she is also survived by her mother, Louise Peck Hundley of Mechanicsville; a sister, Martha H. Azimi of Virginia Beach; and two nieces, Lesa Finnegan and Kristina Azimi, both of Virginia Beach. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Hundley Newman and her father, William Hundley.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, by the Rev. Harold Burchett. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery with a graveside service at 10 a.m. Thursday. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday and request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Virginia Beach Community Chapel, 1261 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, Va. 23451.
