Born in Newport News, she was the widow of Maurice H. Truax.
Survivors include two nieces, Alice D. Hale and her husband, Sandy, of Portsmouth and Jean Smith of Suffolk; two nephews, Joel Denmark and his wife, Sandra, of Portsmouth and William Denmark of Portsmouth; several great nieces and nephews including Donna Hale, Kim Denmark and Joel Denmark Jr., all of Portsmouth; and a dear friend, Sister Grace.
