JANE B. GARTMAN

Jane B. Gartman, 69, of the 100 block of Effie Ave., died Sept. 20, 1997.

She was born in Hatteras, N.C., and was a Methodist and assistant manager at Grants Department Stores.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Robin A. Gartman; two sons, Robin L. Gartman of Chesapeake and Thomas M. Gartman of Virginia Beach; a sister, Joanne Jarrett of Washington state; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Hazel B. and Raymond Beasley.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. Ted James. The body will be cremated. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
