MARY E. UZZLE

Mary E. Uzzle, of the 3500 block of Gatling Ave., died Sept. 19, 1997, in a local hospital.

She was a Norfolk native and the widow of John Uzzle. A retired cook, she was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary M. Uzzle, Martha A. Uzzle, Shirley Uzzle, Lena Uzzle; a son, Johnny Uzzle Jr.; two sisters, Lillie White and Vernice Winder; a brother, Leon Harrison; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Uzzle also leaves a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Martha M. Harrison and Jesse Pugh.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in New Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. G.G. Campbell. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will receive friends at the residence. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
