BERNICE M. GASKINS

Bernice Marshall Gaskins, 81, died Tuesday Sept. 23, 1997, in Shore Memorial Hospital.

Born and reared in Makemie Park, she was the widow of George Douglas Gaskins and daughter of the late William C. Marshall and Cedar Miller Marshall Tarr. She was a homemaker, member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, Accomack County Woman's Club and Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her children, Carol Gaskins of Quinby, Jean Munson of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Doris Kilmon of Exmore, Iris Waters of Wachapreague; brothers, Norman Marshall of Eastville, Ivan Tarr of Fayetteville; a grandson, Arthur Munson of Elizabeth City; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Quinby Cemetery by the Rev. Sallye Bowen. Memorial contributions can be made to Smith Chapel UMC, c/o Mrs. Anna Warren, Quinby, Va. 23423 or the Hospice Dwelling Place, Jamesville, Va. 23398. Williams Funeral Home, Onancock, is in charge.
