Edna W. Wilkins, 82, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, went quietly home to her Savior Sept. 23, 1997, after battling cancer for many years. She was the widow of William W. ``Bubba'' Wilkins.
Through the years, she had served as sales clerk for the Center Shops in downtown Norfolk, was a PBX operator of Hague Towers and the City of Norfolk, was a volunteer worker at Sentara Leigh Hospital and a member of the Senior Citizens Bowling League for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Audrey W. Horne and her husband, Merritt, of Norfolk; her brother, Robert T. Ward and his wife, Jean, of Chesapeake; a sister-in-law, Dollie Ward of Chesapeake; three grandchildren, Lt. Col. Loren D. Peele and wife, Rebecca, of Springfield, Va., Brenda P. Bodnar and her husband, Jimmy, of Norfolk, Sharon K. Latta and her husband, Ralph, of Chesapeake; a step-grandchild, Laura Jordan of Portsmouth; her faithful and loving friend, Percy Betts of Norfolk; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Pastor Fred Braswell. Visitation of friends and family will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
