NELL J. BRITTON

Nell Joyner Britton died Sunday, Sept. 21, 1997, in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin.

A native of Northampton County, she was preceded in death by her husband, Knox Britton, formerly of Seaboard, N.C. She taught school in the communities of Salisbury, Thomasville, Smithfield and Conway and was a Sunday School teacher at Zion United Methodist Church, Conway, for many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Nell Britton Kilpatrick of West Chester, Ohio; a grandson, Stephen Andrew Kilpatrick of Atlanta, Ga.; and a sister, Wilma Joyner of Woodland.

A funeral was conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Woodland Baptist Church by the Rev. Heath Lloyd. Burial followed in the Town of Woodland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Baptist Church. Bridgers Funeral Home Inc., Conway, was in charge of arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
