HARLAN A. HURDLE JR.

Harlan Alonza Hurdle Jr., 48, of Route 1 died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1997, from injuries sustained in a truck wreck.

A native of Gates County, he was the husband of Brenda Thach Hurdle and the son of Mrs. Elizabeth Riddick Hurdle of Belvidere and the late Harlan A. Hurdle Sr. He was a self-employed logging contractor working with Jones Lumber Co. He was a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church but attended Evangelical Methodist Church.

Besides his wife and mother, survivors include four sons, Brad Hurdle of Elizabeth City, Jason Hurdle, Travis Hurdle and Derek Hurdle, all of Belvidere; four sisters, Frankie H. Proctor of Roanoke, Va., Jo Ann H. Dail of Plymouth, Wendy Peede of Belvidere and Chip Byrum of Seaford, Va.

A funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday in Swindell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Cedar Wood Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of his mother, Route 1 Box 198, Belvidere. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
