EMERIDA RODRIGUEZ

Emerida Rodriguez, 71, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1997, in a Virginia Beach hospital.

She was a native of Ponce, Puerto Rico, and was the daughter of the late Daniel and Maria Rodriguez.

Mrs. Rodriguez is survived by four sons, Daniel and Anthony Torres, both of Enfield, Conn., Elliott Torres of East Granby, Conn., and Carlos Rodriguez of Wethersfield, Conn.; five daughters, Nolga Carrasquillo of Puerto Rico, Jeanette Colon of Florida, Wilma Torres of New Britain, Conn., Martha Britt of Virginia Beach, and Lydia Castro of Puerto Rico; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She also leaves seven brothers, Felix and Louis Rodriguez, both of Puerto Rico, Epifanio Gonzales of Florida, Otto Rodriguez of New York, Danny, Jose and Rafi Rodriguez of New Britain, Conn.; six sisters, Rosa Rodriguez of Puerto Rico, Hilda Sanchez of Florida, Gladys Porpora of New York, Isabella Landrau, Ada Cruz and Sara Rodriguez of New Britain, Conn.; and many friends in the Virginia Beach area. She was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Hector Rodriguez; and two sisters, Adriana and Matilda Rodriguez.

A funeral will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday in Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield, Conn., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels.
