Matthew Rudolph Williams of the 300 block of Cobb St. died Sept. 22, 1997, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Franklin, he worked for the Camp family as a chauffeur. He was a member of the U.S. Army and a veteran of World War II. He was the son of the late Mae and Matthew Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Pattie Williams; a son, Ronnie Williams of Raleigh, N.C.; four sisters, Carolyn Willis, Margaret Jordan and Nellie Rogers, all of Franklin, and Linda Jefferson of Florida; a brother, Michael Williams of San Diego, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel by Bishop S.D. Willis. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Rogers, 213 Yeidee St., Franklin. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
