Mildred Jeanettie Smith, 80, formerly of the 3900 block of King St., died Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, in Virginia Beach.
A native of Portsmouth, she was the widow of William C. Smith and a member of Alexander Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Joy S. Austin of Portsmouth, Lynette S. Nelligar of Virginia Beach, Sandra S. Minter of Chesapeake and Janis S. Cook of Cabins, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Mike and Ann Linn Austin, LeAnn Amory, Steve Minter, Malinda Frederick and Jonathan Cook; and two great-grandchildren, Michael Amory and Steven Minter.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Alexander Baptist Church by Dr. Archie Corbin Jr. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, and will also be at 2016 Christopher Drive, Chesapeake. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
