CYNTHIA E. BLOUNT

Cynthia Evora Blount, 43, of the 800 block of Nixon Drive, died Sept. 26, 1997, in Bayside Sentara Hospital, Virginia Beach.

She was a native of Suffolk and was employed at Lipton Tea Co. as a sanitation engineer. She was a member of Tabernacle United Church of Christ in Suffolk and the Willing Workers Club, and was a former Sunday School teacher. She was a 1972 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, where she was a majorette. She was the daughter of Lola M. Blount of Suffolk and the late Gorden R. Blount.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Klamente R. Baker of Portsmouth; three sisters, Dr. Sanjra B. Manley of Adelphi, Md., and Emma C. Blount and Deborah S. Conway, both of Richmond; two brothers, Alvin D. Blount of Petersburg and Richard C. Blount of Chesapeake; three nieces, Isis Blount, Tiyia J. Boone and Tameka Blount, all of Richmond; a nephew, Rico Bowens of Miami; a great-niece, Adara Blount of Richmond; a great-nephew, Johnathan Gay of Suffolk; aunts, Nina Hicks of Smithfield, Erma Keith of Los Angeles and Evangelist Marion Lewter of Suffolk; sisters-in-law, Barbara Blount of Chesapeake and Mazie Blount of Petersburg; and several cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Wallace L. Manley.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Tabernacle United Church of Christ by the Rev. Carlton R. Upton Sr. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
