Franklin ``Dusty'' Wallace Boswell Jr., 41, a lifelong resident of Hampton, died at home after a courageous battle with cancer Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997.
He worked for Automated Data Processing as a computer programmer and was formerly employed by Data Systems Computer Center. Dusty was a 1974 graduate of Kecoughtan High School where he participated in wrestling and football. He was a 1978 graduate of ODU with a B.A. degree in history, and a member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. He also was a major in the active Army Reserve.
Dusty was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Wallace Boswell Sr., and was the beloved son of Peggy S. Boswell and beloved brother of Robert Coe Boswell and wife, Debra of Havelock, N.C., Jeffery Ken Boswell and wife, Mae of Virginia Beach, Mark Douglas Boswell of Hampton, Christopher L. Boswell of Hampton. He is also survived by nieces, Cora Elizabeth Boswell, Rebekah Ann Boswell, Peggy Lynne Boswell and Amanda Sue Boswell, all of Havelock. He also leaves his cats, Thomasina and Shadow.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment will follow in Clark Cemetery.
