GEORGE E. LINDNER SR.

George Edward Lindner Sr., 73, of the 3500 block of Old Mill Road, died Oct. 1, 1997, in a Hampton hospital.

A native of Portsmouth, he was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Norfolk Naval Air Station as an aircraft mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Frances J. Lindner; four daughters, Nell M. Reed of Portsmouth, Barbara J. Joyner of Chesapeake, Wanda Silver of Foley, Ala., Judy Hardin of Glenwood, N.C.; three sons, Charles N. Lindner of Portsmouth, George E. Lindner Jr. of Marion, N.C., Gary A. Silver of Booneville, Ark.; three sisters, Frances Kincaid of Portsmouth, Dorothy Buck of Virginia Beach, Elizabeth Snead of Portsmouth; two brothers, Charles Lindner of Chesapeake, Elbert Lindner of Portsmouth; 32 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Tommy Hardin. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
