Annie ``Piddie'' Mack of the 7400 block of Hughart St. died Oct. 2, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Born in Lucama, N.C., she was a retired domestic worker after 23 years of service for Mr. Grisby. Mrs. Mack was a member of Logan Park Baptist Church, where she was a member of Usher Board Number One. She was the widow of Lee A. Mack.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Laughlin of Philadelphia, Pa., and Quista Mack of Norfolk; three sons, Robert Lee Thompson of Norfolk, Hurbert Miles of Hampton and Monroe Miles of Salisbury, N.C.; four sisters, Elizabeth Williams of New York, and Omeida Dew, Bernice Jones and Magalene Taylor, all of Lucama, N.C.; four brothers, Paul Artis, Silas Artis and Arthur Artis, all of Lucama, N.C., and Ben Artis of New York; three grandchildren, Robert Lee Thompson Jr. and Naomi Bowe and Michelle Thompson; eight great-granchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church, Norfolk, by the Revs. Joseph Price and Kelvin L. Clay. Burial will be in Hamilton and Family Cemetery, Wilson, N.C. The remains will be ready for viewing at 3 p.m. Monday. The family will assemble at 7721 Ruthvend Road at 10 a.m. for the processional and will receive friends there from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday.
