DAVID J. BARTON

David J. Barton, 50, of the 1000 block of Woodwind Way, passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997.

Mr. Barton was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and was the son of John W. and Annie Park Barton of Pittsburgh and the husband of Sandra G. Barton. He was retired deputy director of Defense Information Processing Center at the Norfolk Naval Base. Mr. Barton was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Memberships included Greenbrier Country Club, National Rifle Association and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Barton is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer Reynierse, her husband, Steve, and their son, Sean David Barton Reynierse of Chesapeake, and April Barton of McMurray, Pa.; two stepsons, Jeffrey Dimov of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Rory Dimov, his wife, Lenore, and their four children, Alex, Amber, Monika and Sam, all of Harrisburg, Pa.; and his brother, Robert J. Barton and his wife, Kris, and their son and two daughters, all of Eldersville, Pa.

The viewing will begin on Tuesday with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge. Additional services will follow on Thursday in Pittsburgh. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Portsmouth-Chesapeake Unit, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23513.
