Joseph ``Joe'' New, 64, of Hickory Ridge Road, passed away in his home Sundaymorning, Oct. 5, 1997.
He was born in Wilmington, N.C. He was a retired police officer with Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel District.
He is survived by his wife, Linda New; a sister, Myrtle Wells of Willard, N.C.; and three nieces, Elizabeth Beagle, Charlotte Sawyer and Nina Wells.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Faith Temple Church, 1173 George St., Norfolk, conducted by the Rev. W.G. Beagle and the Rev. Thomas Mercer. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
