ELEANOR R. LAPETINA

Eleanor Rice Lapetina, 79, of the 2000 block of East Ocean View Ave. died Oct. 5, 1997, in a local hospital.

Born in Olean, N.Y., she was the widow of John Frank Lapetina. She had retired as a supervisor after 20 years with the Naval Air Systems Command, Atlantic. Mrs. Lapetina was a member of the American Business Women Association, Mace Chapter, where she achieved the award for Woman of the Year in 1972. She played a vital role in the enhancement of the Ocean View area.

Survivors include two nieces, Charlene Rice Carlin of Norfolk and Marla Smith and her husband, Nick, of Chesapeake; two great-nephews, Christopher Carlin of Norfolk and Ian Smith of Chesapeake; a great-niece, Elise Smith of Chesapeake; and many loving friends.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the S.P.C.A. and the Guiding Eyes for the Blind. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
