Claire Pflueger Gendell, 86, of the 300 block of Kemp Lane died Oct. 4, 1997, in her residence.
Born in Schuylkill Haven, Pa., she was a retired schoolteacher for the Chesapeake Public Schools and taught English at Great Bridge High School. She was the widow of David S. Gendell III and a lifelong member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include three sons, David S. Gendell IV of Annapolis, Md., John A. Gendell of Chesapeake and Joran K. Gendell of Williamsburg; a sister; a brother; and eight grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 16, in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Floral donations may be sent directly to Arlington National Cemetery, Section 10, Grave 10516-A. There will be no viewing or visitation. Francis A.
