Clarence Jones, 85, of the 2300 block of St. Denis Ave. died Oct. 5, 1997, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Jones was born in Scotland Neck, N.C., to the late Mr. and Mrs. Silas Jones and was the widower of Marie Jones. He retired from Vepco.
Survivors include two sisters, Nattie Flood and Rose Lofton of Scotland Neck; a nephew whom he raised, James Jones Sr. of Portsmouth, and two nephews of Scotland Neck; a niece of Scotland Neck, N.C. and a niece of Washington, D.C.; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at noon Friday in Graves Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Roosevelt Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 5 Langley Circle, Portsmouth. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
