Joseph Calvin Sudduth, 71, of the 1600 block of City Park Ave. died Oct. 6, 1997, in his residence.
A native of Halifax County, N.C., he had retired as an electrician from Shop 51, Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of South Rosemary Baptist Church, Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Camilla Sudduth; a daughter, Audrey L. Rose of Portsmouth; two sons, William A. Sudduth of Newport News and Henry C. Sudduth of Portsmouth; two sisters, Elizabeth Hawkins of Virginia Beach and Ruth Elks of Roanoke Rapids; two brothers, Edward Sudduth of Richmond and Gordon Sudduth of Port Richie, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
