Joseph Louis Miolla, 84, died Wednesday Oct. 8, 1997. Born in Wooster, Mass., he had been a Hampton resident for 15 years.
Mr. Miolla retired from civil service as a contract specialist after 34 years of service. He was a Navy veteran of World War II with service in the Seabees and a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Miolla is survived by his wife, Sigga M. Miolla; his sons, Raymond Miolla of Jacksonville, Fla., Gary Miolla of Arizona and Oli Miolla of Virginia Beach; his daughter, Gwen Miolla of Iceland; his sisters, Rose Tregllia of Mount Vernon, N.Y., Nancy Glacer of New Rochelle, N.Y., Frances Castro of Fish Kill, N.Y., Daisey Dortono of Hawthorne, N.Y.; his brother, Ralph Miolla Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the funeral home by the Rev. Donald J. Cavey. The family requests in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association, 753 Thimble Shoal Blvd., Suite 2B, Newport News, Va. 23606.
