POLICE SEEK MAN IN STABBING, BURGLARY AT CHESAPEAKE FIRM

Police have released a sketch of a suspect wanted for stabbing a security guard Sept. 28 during an apparent burglary.

The victim was making his rounds about 5 a.m. at Cargill Oil Seeds in the 500 block of Barnes Road when he spotted a suspicious man. The guard confronted the man, who dropped two power tools he was trying to steal and stabbed the victim with a knife.

The victim later told police that he had seen the same man on the property a night earlier but that the man had explained his presence by saying he was ``with the railroad.'' Railroad tracks pass by the site.

The suspect is white, 25 to 30, 5 feet 8 to 6 feet tall, 180 to 190 pounds, with short, light sandy-brown hair, clean-shaven and tan. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Line: 487-1234. ILLUSTRATION: Drawing
