MARGUERITE S. SHIPLEY

Marguerite Spruell Shipley, 86, formerly of the 600 block of Post Ave. died Oct. 10, 1997, in Smithfield.

Born in South Norfolk, she had retired as an office manager after 40 years with Peebles Ford and Swift Contractors. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of South Norfolk, Chesapeake.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ellen DeGroft of Smithfield; a stepdaughter, Ollie Mae Isaacs of Richmond, Ind.; two grandsons, eight step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild; seven step-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk, by the Rev. Fred Breeden. The family will receive friends at Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to Benns United Methodist Church, Smithfield, or to a charity of choice. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
