Jesse Clinton Davis Sr., 68, of the 4400 block of Mallard Crescent, died Oct. 11, 1997.
Born in Plant City, Fla., he was the widower of Delores Halstead Davis. Mr. Davis had retired from the Coast Guard after 24 years and later retired from Royster Fertilizer.
Survivors include a daughter, Dawn Lilly, and a son, Jesse Clinton Davis Jr., both of Portsmouth; a sister, Sarah Dingus; three brothers, William Bruce Davis, Paul Davis and Jimmy Davis; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
