Harrison C. ``Mule'' Brown, 62, of the 1200 block of Summit Ave. died Oct. 13, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk.
A native of Portsmouth, he was a boilermaker and a carpenter for 31 years at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of the National Boilermakers Association.
Survivors include his wife, Iola Brown; five daughters, Una M. Brown, Pepita P. Brown, both of Portsmouth, Elaine Brown, Cynthia Anderson, Theresa Kendall, all of Philadelphia; five sons, Seth Z. Brown, Vladamir T. Brown, Shawn B. Brown, Toussaint L. Brown, all of Portsmouth, Pablito M. Darden of New Jersey; his mother, Ruth M. Brown of Rose Hill, N.C.; three sisters, Delores Brown of Seattle, Evelyn Brown and Angela Brown, both of Hartford, Conn.; a brother, Gervais A. Brown of Portsmouth; 16 grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church, South Portsmouth, by the Rev. Warren E. Amlet. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, will begin at noon Friday. The body will be taken to the church at noon Saturday. The family will be at the home of his brother, Gervais A.
