Homicide victim

identified as Navy

man from Indiana

Police have released the name of a Navy man killed in West Ocean View this week.

The victim was identified as Toby Reaves, a 20-year-old Indiana man stationed at Norfolk Naval Station. No arrests have been made but police have secured warrants for Edwin G. Villalongo, 19, whose last known address was in the 1000 block of W. Ocean View Ave.

Police said Reaves was shot Monday night in the parking lot of the Sea Mist Apartments in the 1000 block of W. Ocean View Ave.

An investigation into the homicide is continuing, police said. PORTSMOUTH

Police begin looking into

death in Prentiss Park

Police began a homicide investigation Wednesday after the body of a woman was discovered in a Prentiss Park home.

Police spokeswoman Lindsey Disbrow said police were called to the 1400 block of Elm Ave. just before 9 a.m. The victim's identity was not released, but she was described as a black woman who appeared to be in her 30s.

The cause of death had not been determined, she said.
