Robert Dent Kalkreuth Sr., 77, of the 400 block of Hanbury Ave., died Oct. 16, 1997, in a local hospital.
Born in Wheeling, W.Va., Mr. Kalkreuth was foreman and shop superintendent at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a Mason, a member of the Portsmouth Shrine Club and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen M. Kalkreuth; a son, Robert D. Kalkreuth Jr. of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, James P. Mulder Jr., Timothy R. Mulder, Jeffrey W. Mulder and Robert M. Mulder; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Virginia Ann Mulder.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. T.M. Frye. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
