Ret. U.S. Navy Chief Charles Edward Williams Sr. died Oct. 12, 1997.
Born in Greencove Springs, Fla., he retired from the Navy eight years ago as a chief with 30 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. Williams; two daughters, Robin D. Williams-Woodard of Raleigh, N.C., Laurie W. McClamb of Norfolk; two sons, Charles E. Williams Jr. of Chesapeake, Paul E. Williams of Norfolk; five sisters and two brothers; mother-in-law, Mrs. Edith P. McNeill of Norfolk; and sister-in-law, Gloria J. McNeill of Raleigh.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Hale Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, where full military honors will be accorded Monday. A wake will be held in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Family will receive friends at daughter Laurie's home, 2307 Norcova Ave., Apt. E-201, Norfolk. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
