CATHERINE W. BROADNAX

Mrs. Catherine Wilson Broadnax, 69, of the 2900 block of E. Little Creek Road, died Oct. 17, 1997, in her son's residence in Virginia Beach.

A native of Rich Square, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Abegale Boone Wilkins and the late Tobe Wilkins. She was a retired cook and a former member of Little Mount Zion Baptist Church, Suffolk. She was the widow of Monton Broadnax.

Survivors include three daughters, Helen Wilson of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Leona Carter of Norfolk and Mrs. Brenda Wright of Atlanta; three sons, James E. Wilson and Sidney Wilson, both of Norfolk, and Thurman Wilson of Virginia Beach; a sister, Mrs. Emma Wilkins Wilson of Norfolk; a daughter-in-law, Hermiorie Wilson of Virginia Beach; a son-in-law, Samuel D. Wright of Atlanta; four sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Greater Sweet Beulah Holiness Church. Burial will be in Little Mt. Zion Church Cemetery. There will be a wake from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk. The body will be placed in the church by 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The family will assemble at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Massengburg, 515 Hollywood Ave., Suffolk, at noon for the processional to the church. The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Wilson, 4876 Fountain Hall Drive, Virginia Beach. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
