Mary Ann Lindsay Archer, 92, of Richmond, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 1997, in Norfolk.
She was born Oct. 15, 1905, in Portsmouth, the daughter of the late Ambrose Harvey and Indiana Bain Lindsay. She moved to Richmond after her marriage in 1927 to William Wharton Archer Jr.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, William Wharton Archer III of Charles City; a daughter, Mollie Archer Payne of Norfolk; five grandchildren, Guy Harrington Archer and George Harrison Payne of Charlottesville, Archer Payne McGiffin of Richmond, William Wharton Archer Payne of Seattle and Lindsay Pleasants Archer of Truckee, Calif.; and two nieces and two nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond. Memorial donations may be made to Monumental United Methodist Church, Portsmouth. Bennett Funeral Home, Richmond, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
