William Ward Marshall Jr., 74, of 733 Daylight Court died Monday, Oct. 20, 1997, in his residence.
He was a native of Isle of Wight County and retired in 1974 as a Senior Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force with 27 years of service. Mr. Marshall was a member of Bacon's Castle Baptist Church, the American Legion, George F. Dashiell, Post No. 49, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Bethel Marshall; mother, Louise Judkins Marshall of Smithfield; daughter, Tammy M. Costa of Dinwiddie County; son, William W. Marshall III of Providence Forge; a stepson, Timothy A. Stanfield of Newport News; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, Smithfield, with Chaplain Nancy Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, Richmond Metro Council, 4323 Cox Road, Glen Allen, Va. 23060.
