Jarvis G. ``Butch'' Hines of the 3000 block of Camelot Blvd. died Oct. 19, 1997, in Baltimore, Md.
Born in Norfolk, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a Pentecostal.
Survivors include his mother, Gracie Hines Cook of Chesapeake; father, George W. Cook Sr. of Chesapeake; a sister, La Wanda L. Bivens of Detroit, Mich.; three brothers, Leon R. Hines of Baltimore, Md., Ardest D. Hines of Chesapeake and Roland L. Hines of Reno, Nev.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Triumph Church of God in Christ, 3328 Victory Blvd., Portsmouth, by Elder Alston Young. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Garden, Norfolk. Family and friends will assemble at 3020 Camelot Blvd., Chesapeake, at 10 a.m. Saturday for the procession. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Norfolk, is in charge of arrangements.
