Virginia A. Newkirk, 75, died Oct. 22, 1997, in a Virginia Beach nursing home.
Mrs. Newkirk was a native of New Hanover County in Wilmington, N.C. She was the widow of George D. Newkirk and the daughter of the late Homer Rau and Harriett Padon Rau. She was a member of London Bridge Baptist Church in Virginia Beach.
Survivors include a brother-in-law, Franklin Newkirk of Augusta, Ga.; two sister-in-laws, Sallie Morrison of Willard, N.C., Eloise Innis of Wilmington, N.C.; and numerous nephews and nieces.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Wells Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Wallace, N.C. by Pastor Ottis King. The family will receive friends Thursday evening in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
