JOHN H. KELLER III

Dr. John Haney Keller III, 83, died Oct. 10, 1997, after a brief illness.

He attended pre-med school at Duke University and Tulane Medical School. Dr. Keller entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1939 and transferred to the U.S. Navy from 1940-1947, serving in the North Atlantic and Pacific area during World War II as a physician. From 1947 to 1962 he practiced medicine in Ahoskie, N.C., and then at Fitzsimons General Hospital, Aurora, Colo. After retiring he lived in California and Arizona.

Dr. Keller is survived by a son, John H. Keller IV of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Johanna B. Keller of New York City and Liluer K. Seifried of Tulsa, Okla.; two grandchildren, Kurt Seifried and Erica Seifried; and his wife, the former Peggy Beale of Franklin.

A memorial service was conducted Oct. 13 in Tucson. Memorial donations may be made to Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie. Wright Funeral Home provided information. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
