BOOKER T. WASHINGTON'S COACH GETS BACK TO BASICS

Larry Stepney has the basics of this Norcom-Booker T.Washington game down pat.

``Here we are, and here they are,'' the Bookers coach said. ``We'll try to score more points than they do, and we'll try to keep them from scoring more than us. And the team with the most points at the end wins.''

But the team with the most points will also have a head up in the muddled Eastern District. With five teams tied at 3-1 in district play, a win by either team would thin the lead group.

In a game in which almost all things will be equal, it'll probably come down to which quarterback gets untracked first.

Norcom's Kevin Jones leads the area with nine touchdown throws but faces a Bookers defense allowing only 27 passing yards a game. Booker T. Washington's Dominic Perry has thrown seven scoring passes, and the Greyhounds are a little more susceptible to the pass.

The Booker defense, meanwhile, has to contain both TaRon Anderson and Charles Lowe; both have the ability to break a long run.
