Three men, suspects in the armed robbery of a convenience store, were arrested Saturday night after the car they were in slammed into another vehicle as the trio tried to elude police.
One woman in the car that was hit was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Police said her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Police spokesman Larry Hill said the robbery occurred just before 8 p.m. at the Sentry Food Mart at Granby Street and East Princess Anne Road. After the gunmen fled, the store clerk alerted police.
A description of the suspects and the car they were in was radioed to police cars in the area and an officer spotted them moments later.
A brief pursuit followed, Hill said, ending at 25th Street and Colonial Avenue when the car the suspects were in ran a stop sign and struck the other car, which was occupied by two people.
At least one of the suspects was hurt and taken to Sentara Norfolk General, Hill said.
The names of the suspects and the charges against them were not available Saturday night. KEYWORDS: ARREST ROBBERIES
