BEVERLY A. CHERRY

Beverly Ann Cherry, 46, of the 4400 block of Brent St., passed peacefully andgently into eternal life with the Lord Jesus Christ Friday, Oct. 24, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital after an extended illness.

Beverly was a native of Norfolk and the daughter of Mary Burton Covington of Suffolk and Zachary Covington of Spring Hill, N.C. She was employed with the Norfolk Public School System as a parent technician for the last 11 years. She was a member of New Weeping Mary Baptist and was president of the Missionary Society and a member of the usher board.

She is survived by her husband, Carlton Cherry of the home; two daughters, Felecia C. Hall and Nicole D. Covington; two stepdaughters, Carlette and Charlette Cherry; a stepson, Kenji Cherry; a brother, Ronald V. Covington; and three grandchildren, Brandon Covington, Amos Covington and Shytavia Hall.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, in New Weeping Mary Baptist Church, 1104 Fentress Road, by the Rev. John C. Smith. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Riddick Funeral Service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. ILLUSTRATION: Photo KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
