Columbus Smith, of the 2700 block of Allison Drive, died Oct. 24, 1997, in a local hospital.
He was born in Anderson, S.C., and retired as a laborer for the City of Detroit Public Works.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Smith; two daughters, Marion Nutter and Alberta Moss, both of Anderson; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Graves Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Anthony Moses. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 2614 Holley Point Blvd., Chesapeake. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
