DOUGLAS E. MCINTYRE

Douglas Edwards McIntyre, 74, died Oct. 27, 1997, in a local hospital.

Born in Altoona, Pa., he retired as a commander in the U.S. Navy and also as an administrator for Virginia Wesleyan College. Mr. McIntyre was a member of Baylake United Methodist Church and a Navy veteran of World War II and Korea.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Perry McIntyre; two daughters, Diane M. Sanders of Marietta, Ga., Jacqueline M. Hassell of Virginia Beach; a brother, B. Alan McIntyre of Chambersburg, Pa.; four grandchildren, Lindsey and Casey Hassell of Virginia Beach, Ashley and Kelly Sanders of Marietta.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Ted David. Private burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 7320 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75231. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
