WILLIAM M. HARRELL SR.

William Melvin ``Squeaky'' Boney-Harrell Sr. of the 500 block of Beechdale Road died Oct. 26, 1997, in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Portsmouth on July 11, 1925, Mr. Harrell was the youngest of three children born to Lorenzo and Estelle Boney. He attended I.C. Norcom High School, where he played football. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired from the Naval Air Station after 35 years.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Sarah M. Harrell; three daughters, Yvonne Harrell, Denise H. Williams and her husband, Kevin, all of Portsmouth, and Diana Woods and her husband, Michael, of Chesapeake; two sons, William M. Harrell Jr. and his wife, Sharon, of Chesapeake, and Kelvin Harrell of Atlanta, Ga.; nine grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4050 Elliott Ave., by Elder Michael Scott. Altmeyer Funeral Home, Virginia Beach, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
