REGIONAL

RED CROSS RECEIVES COMPUTER: East Carolina Bank has donated a computer to the Dare County Red Cross program.

After disasters in the past such as hurricanes, Dare County government, the American Red Cross and FEMA have conducted damage assessments independently of each other.

With the new computer, the Dare County Red Cross office can take a giant step toward a closer working relationship with the county by using its database for quicker and more thorough damage assessments. The damage assessments are used to justify bringing government and American Red Cross aid to county residents.

The Dare County Red Cross program is part of the Greater Albemarle chapter of the American Red Cross, headquartered in Elizabeth City.
