FRANKLIN E. HENDERSON

Franklin E. Henderson, 63, died Oct. 28, 1997, in his residence after a long illness.

He was a native of Rome, Ga., but had lived in the Tidewater area for more than 40 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and had been retired from Norfolk & Southern Railroad as a conductor since 1987.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of more than 46 years, Eunice Henderson; five sons and their wives, Rickey L. and Bobbie Henderson, Anthony L. and Angie Henderson of Chesapeake, Frank E. and Pattie Henderson, Steven B. and Kathryn Henderson, Gene B. and Jill Henderson of Virginia Beach; a daughter and her husband, Martha E. and James Brown of Chesapeake; 14 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was predeceased by a grandson, Benjamin G. Henderson.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Raymond Owens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel.
